Katharine Littlefield Poor was born in 1919 in Providence, RI. She graduated from Radcliffe College in 1941 and received a Master's degree in American Civilization from Brown University in 1943.
After graduating from Brown, she wrote an arts and entertainment column on New York art exhibitions, theater and films for the Providence Journal and Evening Bulletin. While living with her family in New Canaan, CT, Lynchburg, VA and Hudson, OH, she continued writing articles for area newspapers and magazines.
Throughout her adult life, Katharine pursued her interest in art, working mainly in the medium of chalk pastels on paper. Her work, primarily still lifes and portraits, can be found in many private collections, mostly throughout New England and in Hudson, Ohio, where she was represented by the Staircase Gallery.
Katharine was a trustee of the Fitchburg (MA) Art Museum and a member of the Princeton (MA) Arts Society and the Providence Art Club.
