Maggie Poor was born in New York City in 1952. During childhood, she lived in Connecticut, Virginia and Ohio. She received a BA in Visual Art from Brown University in 1976, then moved to New York City, where she lived for the remainder of her life.
In New York, Maggie worked for a time as a graphic designer at Artforum Magazine. As a creative artist, she produced a large body of works on paper as well as sculpture. Her work was included in group and solo exhibitions in New York, London, Worcester, Fitchburg, and at Brown Universtity.
